My Time on TBN

Yep, it's true. I was on TBN.

My friend Rice Broocks, Senior Minister of Bethel World Outreach Center, interviewed me on June 8. It aired globally on Friday, the 11th.

That night they had the Newsboys perform, Rice Broocks hosted, and Pete Wilson, Stephen Mansfield, and I were the guests. I have the tape of the whole evening, but did not feel like I could post it all and not run afoul of copyright rules. But, here is my interview with Rice from the program:

Here are some of the topics we covered:

Showing and sharing the love of Christ at Two Rivers Church during the flood.

The great challenge for the missional church.

How Christians deal with suffering.

What is the gospel?

The status of the progress of the gospel.

What is so empowering about discipleship?

How is the church doing?

Church planting in Europe.

The need for a church multiplication movement.

What will the church look like in ten years?

And yes, I quoted some Tim Keller on TBN.

Here is the gospel definition I used on the broadcast (though I messed up the quote a bit). More information about the definition is here:

The gospel is the good news that God, who is more holy than we can imagine, looked upon with compassion, people, who are more sinful than we would possibly admit, and sent Jesus into history to establish His Kingdom and reconcile people and the world to himself. Jesus, whose love is more extravagant than we can measure, came to sacrificially die for us so that, by His death and resurrection, we might gain through His grace what the Bible defines as new and eternal life.

They tell me that the show has or will broadcast to 200 countries around the world. My hope is that we made much of Jesus and His mission.
