Saturday is for Seminars: Let's Connect at One of These Upcoming Denominational Meetings

The denominational meeting season is upon us-- yes, there is a season-- and it is always a great time to encourage pastors and church leaders. I'm a believer in denominations (as I have written here), but it is always fascinating to see the different between conferences like, for example, the Q conference (where I spoke this week) and a denominational meeting. Both matter, but they have different attendees, needs, and focus.

I'll be at the following national denominational meetings over the next six months and hope to see you there. Please pray that I can make much of Jesus and encourage people towards God's mission.

April 17 -- Baptist Missionary Association Pastors Conference and 2012 Annual Meeting, Jackson, MS

From the website:

The conference is set for Tuesday, April 17th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Jackson Convention Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Travis Sellers, Pastor of Worship Arts at Antioch Baptist Church of Conway, Arkansas will be leading worship for the event.

I will be preaching on church multiplication and then talking about Transformational Church.

May 31 - June 3, 2012 -- Foursquare Connection (and Annual Meeting) 2012, Phoenix, AZ

From the website:

The body of Christ is made up of millions of individual voices. Each believer has been tasked with proclaiming the message of Jesus Christ throughout the world. On May 28, The Foursquare Church will gather in Phoenix to be ignited by the Holy Spirit, to take our place in this world as messengers of God. Let's speak with His voice, together becoming the lighthouse of God's love we have been called to be!

Connection 2012 is for pastors and leaders from all areas of ministry. Whether you are involved in NextGen ministries, with worship or in administration, you will find something specific at Connection to enhance and strengthen your ministry. Register in January to attend this special gathering with your family. We can't remain silent. It's time to Speak--Reclaim Our Voice!

I will speak in the general session to the national conference and then spend three days facilitating the formation of a global eldering community, helping connect autonomous Foursquare churches globally. Please pray for wisdom as I facilitate a conversation in multiple languages and across diverse cultures.

June 6-9, 2012 -- The Anglican Church in North America Provincial Assembly, Ridgecrest, NC

From the website:

For the first time since the inaugural Provincial Assembly in Bedford/Plano, Texas in June of 2009, the Anglican Church in North America is excited to announce the next gathering of the whole church. Assembly 2012 will take place Thursday, June 7 through Saturday, June 9 in Ridgecrest, North Carolina. Preparations are already underway. You and all the faithful from the Anglican Church in North America are invited to attend!

I am glad to be with my friend Todd Hunter (former head of the Vineyard and now an Anglican Bishop, read more here), Archbishop Duncan, and Michael Youseff (of Church of the Apostles). I will be speaking several times on issues of transformation, revitalization, and planting. You can find an interview I did about the meeting here.

June 19-20, 2012 -- Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting, New Orleans, LA

From the website:

The Annual Meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention consists of representatives, or "messengers," as they are called, from cooperating churches, who gather to confer and determine the programs, policies, and budget of the Convention. Each church may be represented by up to 10 messengers, depending on church size and Cooperative Program giving amounts, ensuring equal accessibility for small and large congregations alike.

I'll be engaged in several meetings there... more on that later.

June 23, 2012 -- National Association of Congregational Christian Churches Annual Meeting, Bloomington, MN

From the website:

[The program will be] loaded with spirit-filled events designed to re-invigorate and re-educate us in the Congregational Christian Church way. Their goals are to take us away from the old business-as-usual format by expanding our opportunities to fellowship together and learn in the Christian way.

I'll be speaking about the gospel and it's advance through planting and revitalization (and spending some time with their leadership as we talk strategy).

July 16, 2012 -- General Association of General Baptists Annual Meeting, Springfield, MO

From the website:

Our theme for the 2012 Mission & Ministry Summit is "Fishers of Men." At the Summit you will be equipped, encouraged, and empowered to become Smarter Fishermen with Stronger String and Bigger Nets!

I look forward to being back with the General Baptists. General Baptist are Arminan Baptists who look back the Second Great Awakening as their birthplace. I'm excited to be back with them a third time at their annual meeting.

Please pray for me as I seek to encourage these denominations over the next few months.
