You may want to visit a newsstand to purchase the print issue or wait to see if it becomes available online in the next few weeks.
Q. How can I submit an article to your magazine?
A. Our magazines don't accept unsolicited articles. However, you can write to some of the magazines with a proposal. As an example, read the Writer's Guidelines for Today's Christian Woman magazine:
http://christianitytoday.com/women/features/info.html
You should be able to find similar writer's information about most of our magazines by clicking on the "Contact Us" links in the corresponding section of our website.
Q. How do I obtain permission to post one of your articles on my website?
A. We do not grant permission for our articles to appear on other websites. However, we would be happy for you to put a title, deck, short excerpt, and link on your site to the articles you would like your readers to be able to see. For example:
Mr. Cool
Gary Smalley wasn't always so calm and collected. Buried anger could have wrecked his career and marriage. Watch the nightly news or listen to a conversation around the coffee machine at work and you'll hear the same question: "Why have people lost the ability to control their negative emotions?" The outbursts range from the incivility of a major league baseball player spitting in an umpire's face to the life-threatening rage of a terminated employee who returns to the office with a loaded weapon. As a non-for-profit organization, we monitor our costs very carefully, providing what we can for free and charging for other things to support the ongoing ministry.

SPIRITUAL QUESTIONS
Q. How do I find answers to my spiritual questions?
A. For answers to questions about Christianity or help in times of need, visit our Spiritual Help Center:
http://christianitytoday.com/spiritualhelp/
Q. Will you pray for me/my situation?
A. As much as we would like to respond personally to every message, time and staff constraints only permit us to answer questions regarding our publications or websites.
NEWSLETTERS
Q. Could I have received a virus from ChristianityToday.com?
A. We're happy to report that our process for sending newsletters does not allow for viruses (or *any* kind of attachment!) to spread to our newsletter subscribers. But thank you for alerting us to the danger.
Unfortunately, you probably were the target of a Klez/Bugbear virus (or a variation) that infected somebody else's PC. Be sure to scan your computer for infection.
This is symptomatic of the KLEZ-type virus, which forges FROM addresses that it finds in users' inboxes. If you look at the e-mail message with headers intact you will almost certainly find that the message came from another server, not Lists.ChristianityToday.com--even though the FROM address says otherwise.
Please see these articles for more information on how this virus works:
Bugbear spreadingworse than Klez
http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1105-960696.html
"Known technically as W32.Bugbear or I-Worm.Tanatos
It scours the computer for email addresses, to which it sends infected messages
.it disguises infected messages. Besides the common method of sending a message with a randomly-selected heading and "From" field, the virus can also create a message as a reply or forward of an existing message."
Global Bugbear Worm Information Center
https://www.europe.f-secure.com/bugbear/
"The worm can pick up old e-mail messages from an infected system and send them to random e-mail addresses. This means that private e-mails will be disclosed to third parties."
Klez: Don't Believe 'From' Line
http://wired.com/news/technology/0,1282,52174,00.html
"Some Internet users have recently received an e-mail message from a dead friend. Others have been subscribed to obscure mailing lists. Some have lost their Internet access after being accused of spamming, and still others have received e- mailed pornography from a priest.
"They're actually experiencing some of the stranger side effects of the Klez computer virus."
Klez.H 'becomes biggest virus'
http://cnn.com/2002/TECH/05/27/virus.klezh/
"Klez.H is able to select random names from address books to use as the sender address, and also creates a large range of subject, text and attachment names, making it difficult to identify and track."
Sophos.com: Worms adopt 'sender forging' technique
http://snipurl.com/f58
"High profile Windows 32 viruses such as the Klez and Yaha worms substituted the email address of the real sender of the worm with that of an alternative but legitimate email address. This has lead to a flurry of accusations that innocent computer users have sent the worms to customers, suppliers and colleagues. In some cases, Mac users have been blamed of sending the Klez worm, even though it is impossible for their Macs to be infected. This has caused embarrassment to some managed email security companies that have been falsely accusing users of forwarding viral code."
Q. I subscribed to your newsletter, so why am I not receiving it?
A. Spam filters, computer programs, or utilities designed to eliminate "junk" e-mail occasionally block e-mails you're signed up to receive from us.
If you're using a spam filter, especially the one included with AOL 9.0, you may not be receiving our e-mails.
To ensure that our newsletters aren't being blocked, make sure your spam filter is configured to accept messages from @lists.christianitytoday.com.
If you don't know how to do this, review the help screens for the filter or contact the company's technical support.
Q. Why was I unsubscribed from your newsletter?/I didn't unsubscribe.
A. If you were unsubscribed from the newsletter without your knowledge, please read the following:
Did You Really Mean to Unsubscribe?
If you get a notice you've been unsubscribed and you did not ask us to stop sending this newsletter, you may be the victim of someone else's virus-infected computer.
A handful of viruses currently in circulation are able to send e-mail from fake (or random) addresses to almost any address found on a computer. We have discovered that some of our members have been involuntarily unsubscribed when someone else's computer sent us an unsubscribe request in our member's name. (The e-mail FROM address was forged.)
If this has happened to you, we apologize for your inconvenience, and we hope we've made it easy for you to continue receiving the ChristianityToday.com newsletters you want.
To Resubscribe:
Please complete the form at our website: http://ChristianityToday.com/go/nltool
Q. How do I change my e-mail address for your newsletters?
A. Please visit the form at our website:
http://ChristianityToday.com/go/nltool
Insert your OLD e-mail address in the login field to view a list of all the newsletters you are currently signed up to receive.
Enter your new e-mail address in the field near the top, and click the "change"button. Follow the on-screen prompts to update your newsletter preferences.
Q. Why can't I read your newsletter format?
A. We're sorry you're experiencing difficulty with the format of our newsletters. We've tested our format as thoroughly as possible and are unable to do anything more to assist the small percentage of subscribers whose e-mail providers don't support HTML.
Each newsletter includes a link in the upper right corner to click to read the newsletter online. If your e-mail provider enables hyperlinks, we hope this will be helpful to you. However, if this is not the case and you prefer to unsubscribe, you may do so at: http://ChristianityToday.com/go/nltool. Simply enter your e-mail address in the field provided and click "login"to see a list of your subscriptions. Click "unsubscribe"and then "Update"for each newsletter from which you wish to unsubscribe.
Q. Why can't I find links in your newsletters to finish reading the articles?
A. If you are unable to view or click on a link in your newsletter, that means that you are not viewing the newsletter in HTML format.
Because our newsletters are produced in HTML, subscribers must have an HTML compatible e-mail program with their preferences set to read e-mail in HTML (not plain-text).
Please refer to your HELP files within your e-mail program for further directions on changing your preferences to read e-mail in HTML format. Please note, some e-mail programs do not support HTML mail.
Q. Why am I receiving rejection notices and my newsletters are on hold?
A. The e-mail you've received is automatically generated when several attempts to deliver a newsletter have failed. This is usually due to a member canceling his/her e-mail address and moving to a different ISP or having a full inbox. It can also occur if your ISP rejects our messages due to a misconception that you didn't opt-in to receive them.
To continue receiving newsletters, using your e-mail address with which you originally subscribed, send a "new"blank (no subject, no body) e-mail to:
unhold@lists.ChristianityToday.com
To unsubscribe, change your e-mail address, or subscribe to a different newsletter, please visit:
http://ChristianityToday.com/go/nltool and enter your valid e-mail address in the field provided.
Some major ISP's (Hotmail, Comcast, Yahoo and others) occasionally place our newsletter in a "junk"or "spam"folder. Please review your e-mail settings to make @lists.christianitytoday.com an allowed e-mail address.
Q. Can I purchase your subscriber list?
A. In order to protect the privacy of our members, we do not rent, sell, or exchange our subscribers' e-mail addresses with other parties.
However, we do sell advertising space on our website and in our e-mail newsletters. If you're interested in reaching our constituents, please contact our advertising department for more information at 630.260.6202 or via e-mail:
ctiad@christianitytoday.com
