What You Can Do To Boost Offerings at Church?
Editor of Widely Noted 2010 State of the Plate Survey Offers Churches Much Needed Advice

Carol Stream, IL May 4, 2010— The June issue of Church Finance Today, a publication of Christianity Today International, will feature the article 5 Ways to Inspire Generosity. The article is based on results from the 2010 State of the Plate research, which revealed that most churches' overall giving was down in 2009, and so was December, a month that virtually every church looks to for meeting the annual budget.

Brian Kluth, contributing editor and founder of MAXIMUMgenerosity.com, shares more insights from the research and tips on how to increase congregants' giving throughout the year. One tip all churches can benefit from to improve giving such is to conduct a churchwide, family-friendly generosity initiative.

Also in this issue, Richard Hammar, senior editor, J.D., LL.M., CPA, answers the question from readers: Our pastor would like the church to increase his housing allowance due to the fact that he will be incurring more housing expenses than expected this year. Can our church board amend the allowance for the rest of the year, or must he wait until next year? His answer will appear in the June issue of Church Finance Today, which will mail on May 21st.
