I enjoy reading the magazine, but you should have written more stuff about Plus One (March/April). They do a lot of great things for the Lord, besides doing their concerts. Other than that article, the magazine was great!

Thank you for writing so clearly about homosexuality in "Love, Sex & Real Life" (March/April). So many times I read unintelligent writing from Christians on this subject. I have struggled with same-sex attraction for much of my life, but God, in his grace, has given me freedom from that. It was a long and difficult road. But God has changed my heart. This isn't to say I can't be tempted, but to say that my heart doesn't desire to engage in homosexual behavior. I'm so glad you published this!

I appreciate the way you answered the question regarding homosexuality in "Love, Sex & Real Life." Your honesty about sin is free of judgment. I feel we Christians greatly defeat ourselves when we come across as judgmental. I think we should stand strong in the truth of God's Word, but we must be careful not to judge.

I enjoyed reading the article "Confessions of an Obnoxious Christian" (March/April). I also liked the poem "Don't Give Me Jesus." The poem reminded me that just telling others about your beliefs isn't always enough. Your beliefs need to be evident in how you speak and act.

In the "Let's Talk" column (March/April) you answered a question regarding tattoos. You said the Bible doesn't speak directly about it. But in Leviticus 19:28 it specifically says not to "make cuts or printing on the skin." Just thought I'd point that out.

Editor's note: The verse (in the NIV) actually says, "Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves." It's great that you use the Bible for guidance, but when reading Leviticus, we have to look at the "big picture" rather than getting bogged down in the details of every rule and regulation. The big picture is this: "Don't do what pagans do." At that time, pagans cut themselves or gave themselves tattoos as a sign of mourning or to gain favor with their false gods. The Expositor's Bible Commentary says, "There was nothing morally wrong … with tattooing," except when it was connected to pagan rituals.

I want you to know how much the "Let's Talk" column has helped me and inspired me. I recently re-dedicated myself to God after years of drug addiction, depression and self-injury, and I realize how important it is for me to stay in the Word every day. I appreciate you very much, and praise God for your help and encouragement!

In "Confused About Creed" ("Tell Me About It," January/February), lead singer Scott Stapp, when asked if he's a Christian, replied, "This is a very personal question because the whole foundation of being a Christian is a personal relationship." This is a lie! The world would love us to believe that faith is a private issue not to be shared, but it's not. The Great Commission (Matt. 28:16-20) from Christ himself commands us to share our faith. Great job clearing things up concerning their lyrics, by the way!
