Rebekah has been interested in photography for about three years. She also paints (notice the painting and brushes at the right side of the picture). She gathered these items from her room to compose a shot that showed her personality and her interests. However, her favorite photographic subject is nature, especially the sunset at Lake Erie. She says she loves nature because "it's so amazing, the way everything looks and works and is so complex. It's breathtaking how God can put everything together. No one else can do it."

Bill says this photo expresses the two sides of his personality—the formal, conservative side (the mannequin on the right) and the side that wants to live life by experience (the mannequin on the left). Bill's face, reflected in the mirror, shows where he is—right between the two. It's a tension he feels in his relationships, too, as he interacts with people who don't share his Christian values. "I'd rather experience the world as much as possible and not shelter myself from other people with different beliefs," he says. "But if I find myself being negatively influenced by them, then I know there's a problem and I need to back off."

Bill is a sophomore art major at Carnegie Mellon University.

As a project for a photography class at her local community college last semester, Katie and a friend went out looking for fun photos. Her friend posed between the bars of a jungle gym, then Katie took her place and snapped the photo using a tripod and timer. "I've always loved taking pictures—it's a lifelong thing," Katie says.

Katie attends Trinity Western University in British Columbia.
