A judge has dismissed most of the lawsuit against Sovereign Grace Ministries, which claimed that SGM covered up the sexual abuse of minors. The judge ruled that victims didn't sue in time before the statute of limitations had expired. Reformed leaders including D.A. Carson, Kevin DeYoung, and Albert Mohler have come out in defense of SGM founder, C. J. Mahaney. Meanwhile, Scot McKnight and Boz Tchividjian have expressed disapproval of these leaders' support.
In light of the allegations, pastor Joshua Harris (whose church recently left SGM) announced from the pulpit he'd been sexually abused as a boy. In an interview on Out of Ur, Harris discusses his relationship with SGM and the reason he chose to address his abuse in this way.
