Dave Gibbons suggests that we ought to customize leadership development in our churches to develop the inner life, relational life, and work life. This is done by activating passion, providing freedom to break through habits, teaching people how to love, and giving people practical ways to live it out. Dave uses an exmple of Brandon Marshall of the New York Jets to show that by "activating" a leader, he or she is given the ability to be proactive rather than reactive in the reality of different situations.
