It's downright proverbial. General David Petraeus's career-ending affair is yet another chapter in the long history of powerful men toppled by lust. Many commentators have found lessons in the wake of the scandal. Several Christian leaders used the news to issue messages about the dangers of adultery. Others drew comparisons between Petraeus and another flawed warrior, Kind David.
