Perspective on the buzz

In the aftermath of Friday's killings at a Connecticut elementary school, churches and communities are grieving and seeking answers. Here are a few notable responses to the tragedy from Christian leaders.

Christianity Today's editor Mark Galli offers insight into the tragedy, as does New York Times columnist Ross Douthat.

Rachel Held Evans objects to the notion that this is what comes of "taking God out of our schools."

Max Lucado urges pastors to "avoid the extremes" in trying answer questions raised by the tragedy.

And, Sandy Hook pastor Kathleen Adams-Sheperd preaches that "God will wrestle light from darkness."
