Perspective on the buzz

No surprise here, but the recent success of the film adaptaion of Broadway hit Les Miserables has been due in part to the influence of Christians. Targeting evangelicals was a key element in the film's promotional strategy. Themes of grace, human dignity, and redemption made for a pop-hit among believers, especially given the strategic marketing of the film to Christian thought and culture leaders by NBC Universal.

More at CNN's Belief Blog. For one pastor's take on the Christian themes of the film, see Tullian Tchividjian's recent article "Give Me Law or Give Me Death".
