Prayer has been in the headlines after Louie Giglio's withdrawal from offering the benediction at the presidential inauguration. While it's easy to despair at the national schism apparent in the fiasco, the cultural situation isn't as bleak as a first glance might paint it.

One sign of life is an ecumenical call for unity in prayer for congress. The Faith and Politics Institute has offered a "Call to Prayer" asking for believers nationwide to unite in prayer for political leaders. The call has drawn a diverse response from Christians across the political spectrum, including local church leaders and those serving in denominational, parachurch, and media organizations.
