Trend Watch

Perspective on the buzz

Tired of these religion surveys yet? Yeah, neither are we … and this is a good one.

Gallup's state by state data on religion is in. As in past years, the US's most religious states are all in the Southern Bible belt, plus Utah (unsurprisingly). All the states in New England are among the least religious in the nation, mirrored by the far Northwest states of Oregon, Washington, and Alaska. Most religious? Mississippi. Least religious? Beautiful but iconoclastic Vermont.

An excellent video summary from Gallup's editor-in-chief.
