Perspective on the buzz

If you were on Facebook last week, you probably noticed a tidal wave of red squares surrounding pink equals signs. These icons were adopted by supporters of same-sex marriage as the issue went before the Supreme Court.

Evangelical reaction has been split. CNN notes that some Christian leaders are rushing to catch up with changing cultural opinion. Rob Bell recently announced support for gay marriage.

Others see the cultural movement toward embracing gay marriage as inevitable. Christianity Today asked three Christian leaders, "If same-sex marriage is ratified, how should we respond?"

But many still call for a better biblical defense against the persuasive arguments for gay marriage. In response to a common comparison between gay marriage and the civil rights movement, Voddie Baucham argues "Gay is Not the New Black."
