Court-Martialed for Sharing Faith?
A recent article has been making the rounds on social media, claiming that the Pentagon (influenced by Mikey Weinstein) is developing court-martial procedures to punish Christians in the military who express or share their faith.
Weinstein has been outspoken in his antagonism toward religious influence in the military, comparing it with "treason" and "spiritual rape," on the same level as "sexual assault." But the Pentagon has clarified that it is banning "proselytizing"—forced, intrusive attempts at conversion—not "evangelism"—sharing Christian faith.
Despite conservative fears to the contrary, the U.S. Department of Defense says it "has never and will never single out a particular religious group for persecution or prosecution."
