Perspective on the buzz

Long a barometer for center-right evangelicalism, the Southern Baptist Convention met in Houston last week. Among the high-profile issues discussed were human trafficking, prisons, mental health and suicide, rising Calvinism in the SBC, and how member churches should relate to the Boy Scouts of America after the BSA's decision to include gay youths, and the Convention's sharply declining membership.

Pastor and former SBC president Frank Page talks with Christianity Today about his thoughts on family and faith in the aftermath of his daughter's suicide

The Convention also had a minor (but humorous) Twitter mixup. Read "Tweeting the (Other) SBC."
