Mid-east Unrest Brings Christian Persecution
Christians are still suffering violence and displacement as political turmoil and war impact multiple areas in the Middle East.
Two stories to follow:
In Egypt, Christians are bracing for another round of political protests against the current presidential administration. Such action has led to violence against churches and believers in the past.
Reports from Syria, where several of the fighting rebel factions are hostile toward Christians, tell of the murder of a Catholic priest and beheadings of Christian leaders, following major offensives against the peaceful Christian population. Recently, the Christian village of Homs was massacred, and burned to the ground (graphic images at these links). Reportedly, militants are using advanced Western weapons against the civilians.
Please remember these Christians in prayer, and seek means of peaceful and appropriate support for them.
