LifeWay Research: Corporate Worship Increases Christian "Obedience"
A recent study presented by LifeWay tried to quantify the often wide divide between believers' intentions and practice. They found that what they termed the "Obeying God and Denying Self attribute" was greater in the lives of Christians who regularly attended worship services.
… Obeying God and Denying Self is the only one of the eight attributes of discipleship that was predicted by more frequent worship attendance.
It's a sign that spiritual maturity often happens in community, said [LifeWay vice president] McConnell.
"Many people think of obeying God as something they must do on their own," he said. "However, it's clear through the research findings that the teaching, encouragement and accountability of corporate worship have a direct impact on obedience."
In response, thousands of pastors say "no duh."
