Favorite Books of 2007 The Russians are coming, again. By John Wilson
Yes, it's time again for end-of-the year lists. Sunday's Book Review in the Times featured The Ten Best Books of 2007 (the list had been posted earlier on the web), and many others have appeared or will follow soon. My own list, as I've said in years past, is in no way definitive, comprehensive, or systematic. What you get here are simply the books that came most readily to mind as outstanding among the many I read this year.Click to continue.
The Best Christian Albums of 2007 Quite possibly our most eclectic and unusual list yet, calling attention to artists both familiar and unfamiliar who have most creatively expressed their faith through music.
There's a sense among this year's panel that 2007 will go down as one of our most interesting lists of top Christian albums (released between December 2006 and November 2007). It could be because there was no obvious front-runner going in, and though we generally agreed on the same initial nominations, the finalists all placed within mere points of each other. The list also reflects the way Christian music has splintered from its established industry into the mainstream as well as independent music circles—hence why you'll find some unfamiliar breakout artists alongside the bigger names.Click to continue.
2007 Readers' Choice Christian Music Awards Skillet, Jeremy, Skillet, Rebecca, and more Skillet ... plus your picks for Best Album and Best New Artist.
The readers have spoken—and the fan clubs have spoken even louder! Once again we've provided an opportunity to vote for your favorites in Christian music. And once again, with more than 3,000 participants, the favorites are the usual suspects.Click to continue.

One Sunday I was attending my brother's Catholic church. During one part of the mass, the altar server began ringing hand bells. Suddenly, the solemn moment was interrupted by a wide-eyed little boy's breathless announcement: "Daddy, the ice cream man is here!"
