 Welcome

The greatly anticipated movie The Passion of The Christ opens in theaters today. Do you plan to see it? I'm going to watch it Friday with people from my church, but I admit to having mixed emotions. I have a feeling it's going to make me uncomfortable.

When faced with the horrible details of Jesus' death portrayed in living color on the big screen, most moviegoers likely will feel squeamish. But the truth of Christ's suffering and death on the cross is a beautiful reminder of his incredible love for us—that he paid the ultimate price for our sins.

This week, we have a full lineup of articles on The Passion. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film and what motivated Gibson to take on such a controversial project. We'll add articles to the site daily, so check back for the additional coverage from our new channel, Christianity Today Movies. Also, receive the weekly newsletter that brings you reviews of the latest releases from a Christian perspective. Click here to sign up now.

Thanks for reading.

When we were driving through Pennsylvania Dutch country, my seven-year-old grandson, Michael, couldn't get over all the Amish buggies. "Grandpa, why do they use horses instead of cars?"

"Because they don't believe in automobiles," his mother explained.

It was quiet for a minute, then Michael said, "But can't they see them?"
