Keeping You in Tune with Today's Music Wednesday, July 08, 2009
Ben Utecht, starting tight end for the Cincinnati Bengals, has had a successful five-season football career, including a Super Bowl win with the Indianapolis Colts. And now Utecht is expanding his talents beyond football and adding a notch in his belt that few football players can claim: A duet with Sandi Patty.
This duet, along with songs co-written with Mark Harris, Jeremy Camp, and others, appears on Utecht's new self-titled album. Christian Music Today sat down with Utecht to talk about his new album and what inspired him to begin his music career. His passion for reaching others is evident as he explains how he shares his faith both through his music and on the football field. Read the interview here and take a look at Andrew Greer's 4-star review of his album.
Then take a look at our three other new reviews this week: Bobby Bishop's Everyday Man, Travis Cottrell's Jesus Saves LIVE, B. David's Life Journal, and our Indie Spotlight on The Ineloquent.
And finally, take a look at this week's Scoop, reporting on Syntax Records' decision to stop endorsing rap artist RedCloud citing "substance abuse," a new duet album from Bebe & Cece, Third Day's induction into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, and more.
