Your guide to an abundant single life from ChristianSinglesToday.com Thursday, April 17, 2008
Hello, single friends. I hope this e-mail finds you enjoying a great week. Personally, I've had better weeks as a single woman. But I'm surviving and slowly moving forward.
My friends and family members have been a great help in this tough time: My sister and her family sent flowers, my friend Kathryn has let me camp out at her home, my friend Jill made me a CD of comedy sketches. These people have been God's hands and feet loving on me, reminding me I'm not alone.
How do you encourage a single friend when he or she is down? Do you do one of the acts of kindness listed above? Is there some other way you've encouraged a single friend or family member? Share your pick-me-up strategies at SinglesNewsletter@ChristianityToday.com so we can pass along these great ideas.
Then go to this week's lead article to read a variety of responses to the question: Do you believe in soulmates? Eight singles share their opinions—see of you agree or disagree with them.
Whether you're the encourager or the one needing encouragement this week, we pray you'll find true joy in God's unconditional, unending love.
Blessings!

Do You Believe in Soulmates? 8 singles share why they do or don't believe God has only one specific mate in mind for each of us.
I don't believe in soulmates. To me, having a soulmate means there's only one person God has chosen specifically for me and predestined for me to marry. The reason I don't believe in this is because on God's list of priorities, his top desire is for everyone to be born again. Even so, according to Deuteronomy 30:19, he gave human beings the choice to believe in and follow him or not. He certainly would have chosen salvation for us and then chosen our mates for us if that were the way he works.
