I remember the first time I read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. It was an assignment for a "kiddie lit" class I took in college. (Yeah, I didn't read many kid books when I was a real kid.) The novel blew me away, and I quickly moved on to the other books in the Chronicles of Narnia series, including Prince Caspian—the book the new Narnia movie is based on.
Along with just enjoying some great stories, I was amazed at how these Narnia books gave me glimpses of Jesus through Aslan, who, I soon discovered, "is not a tame lion." Needless to say, I'm pretty psyched to see the new movie when it releases this Friday. How about you? We'd like to know, so please take this week's poll.
If you happen to be as excited as I am about the new movie, you'll want to check out the Prince Caspian quiz. As for me, well, I got 7 out of 15 right. My score earned me a "Badger" rating, which isn't too bad, I guess, if you like being in the company of badgers. You'll also want to check out 4 Things We Can Learn from Prince Caspian, and all the other great Narnia stuff available for personal and small group study.
As I think about Prince Caspian and the other Narnia books, I really believe they helped spark my continuing interest in novels labeled for "Children" and "Young Adults"—uh, don't you just hate labels like that? I sure do. If I'm not careful, they can easily push me away from some real nail-biting stories and roller-coaster adventures, like Maximum Ride: The Final Warning. Hey, I'm only in the middle of it. So, if you've finished the novel, don't even think about telling me the ending!
By the way, if you've read any of the Maximum Ride books, I have a question: Is it just me, or do you think there are some pretty cool comparisons between Max's flock and your Christian club or small group at church? If that seems like a fair comparison (or if you think I'm a little nutty), drop me an e-mail. I'd like to hear your thoughts. Also, Max fans: Check out our Maximum Ride discussion starters.
And then, be sure to check out the Golden Ear Winner of Best Rock/Pop Artist, along with these other Ignite Your Faith features: a story about a girl who swallows her fears and shares Christ with a fellow tennis player, sensitive advice for someone struggling with a very difficult dating issue, and news from the bizarre. Then for anyone preparing for the future, we offer insights from college students that will help your faith really grow during your freshman year.
Along with all that … drum roll please … we've just launched our second Heroes of Rock video! This time around, our heroes meet up with Hawk Nelson and someone whose voice you might recognize—that is, when he's not doing his impersonation of Star Wars' bad guy in black.
Enjoy!

LOVE, SEX & DATING My Boyfriend Masturbates Q. My boyfriend and I used to have sex. We've talked to our youth leader about wanting to change, but our past continues to affect our relationship. Since I don't have sex with my boyfriend anymore, he masturbates and lies to me about it. This hurts my feelings. I'm not mad, but I just don't know how to feel about this.
