It's not every day you see God show up in a vampire/zombie movie. And so I was pretty surprised when I saw Will Smith's new flick, I Am Legend (PG-13). I didn't expect this message from the movie: No matter how much humans try to do life without God, they fail. But yet, God is there and ready to help. And, as a poster in the movie reads, "God still loves us." He has a plan for us. No matter how badly we screw up, he's there for us.
Of course, I Am Legend is pretty dark and grisly (don't see it without your parents' permission), but its ending is very redeeming. Because of that, it's one of Ignite's many, many nominees for the 2007 Golden Nacho Award. This Ignite Your Faith award honors the movies that moved us, inspired us, and made us think about God this past year.
Voting has begun. Go here to cast your vote. One randomly chosen voter will receive a $100 gift card for free movie rentals. Whoo! (See which movies won last year.)
