Did you know Moses is in the New Testament? I don't think I really realized that until I was working on our "Look It Up" page for the March/April issue of Ignite Your Faith. (In the print issue, "Look It Up" is a new feature we added for 2008. It's dedicated to helping readers with their devotions and Bible reading. If you don't already subscribe to the magazine, check out this deal so you won't miss print exclusives like "Look It Up.")
In the March/April "Look It Up," I included a mention of a cool new CD set. It's The Word of Promise Audio Bible (Thomas Nelson). This 20-CD audio dramatization of the New Testament includes over 120 voice actors like Jim Caviezel, Rebecca St. James, Michael W. Smith and Richard Dreyfuss as Moses. When I read that, I thought, Moses? Really?
I looked it up and found that he appears to Jesus in Matthew 17 (but doesn't speak) and his story of faith is re-told in Acts 7. You learn something new everyday—and every time you open the Bible!
I have a copy of The Word of Promise Audio Bible to give away to one randomly selected e-mailer aged 13 to 18. So, e-mail me by January 25 with your name, birth date, address and the subject line, "Word of Promise Giveaway."
What's new on the IYF site this week? A junior in high school wrote a story about a youth group prank war that went bad and we answer a tough question: Is suicide a sin?
Oh, and don't forget to vote for the 2007 Golden Nacho Award, which honors the redeeming movies that moved us, inspired us, and made us think about God this past year. Go here to vote. One randomly chosen voter will receive a $100 gift card for free movie rentals. (See which movies won last year.)
Happy reading!

The Prank War Practical jokes can be fun, but we'd made them into something awful. by Ethan Landes
It was 12:30 in the morning as I snuck through the dark hallway toward the girls' sleeping room. In the dim light filtering into the window, I double and triple checked my silly string bottle to make sure the nozzle was pointed the right way. I looked back at the three guys behind me.

Where do you begin? It's a basic question. The answer's usually obvious. When you take a test, you begin by reading the instructions. When you travel, you begin by studying a map.
