Q. How do you deal with verbal abuse from coaches?

A. Hollering is almost universal among football coaches, but if a coach curses, that shuts me down immediately, and I'm not shy about telling him. When I went to Tennessee, Johnny Majors was coach and Larry Marmie my defensive coordinator. I went to Coach Majors and said, "If you want to holler at me and make me run all day, I'll do it. The only thing I ask is that you don't curse." Coach Marmie heard about it and promised the whole defense: "I'll scream at you, but I'll never curse or humiliate you." Our attitude was, "Yeah, right. Let's see." But he kept his promise.

How do you express what life is all about?

Our God reigns! If you understand that, and you belong to Him, you can face almost anything.

Reggie White, former tackle for the Green Bay Packers, is widely known as "the minister of defense."
