 Goal Setting Goal to Go

Q. What areas should goal setting include?
A. All aspects of your life: spiritual, mental, social, financial, physical, and so on.
How often should you review and set your goals?
Annually. If you haven't yet set goals for this year, it's not too late to begin.
I have a general idea of where I want to go, but how do I get started?
Here are a few guidelines that might help.
Your goals should be in writing. Keeping them in your head isn't very effective. You need to put them on paper so you can review them.
Your goals should be specific and measurable. Set a goal that lets you check your progress. For instance, "wanting to know God better" is admirable, but it is not a well-defined goal. A better-stated goal might be to read through the New Testament during the year, or to have a daily prayer time.
Your goals should be ambitiously obtainable. if you make them too easy, they will be meaningless. If you make them impossible to obtain, they will be discouraging.
Your goals should be accompanied by an action plan. Suppose I have a goal to lose 10 pounds; I've got to have a strategy for doing it (exercising more often than once a millennium).
Your goals should be renewed. Check your progress periodically to see how you are doing. You may have to adjust the action plan to keep on course.
