A Real Church Wedding The Church Henry T. Blackaby and Tom Blackaby Thursday, March 9, 2000
 1 of 1

Key Bible Verse: You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ ( 2:5). Bonus Reading: Romans 12:4-8
A young couple, who were living together, began attending church. He was an alcoholic, and their relationship was in jeopardy. The church began to pray for them, love them, and watch as God surrounded them with those who could help him deal with his addiction. Soon they asked how to accept Christ, be baptized, join the church, and be married! Even though they had no family, no money, and knew only a few people in the church, the wise pastor told them not to worry and to set a date for their wedding.
The pastor shared their needs with the congregation, who understood the importance of being the body of Christ. The wedding took place at the close of Sunday morning worship. When the pianist started the wedding march, out came the groom with a church member at his side. Down the aisle came the maid of honor, another church member, followed by the bride. An older deacon escorted her down the aisle. After the wedding, the church provided a dinner in a hall church members decorated. More than 150 guests attended, all members of their new family.
Henry T. Blackaby and Tom Blackaby in The Man God Uses Personal Challenge:
- Praise God for the community of believers, for the are Christ to you.
Thought to Apply: The church is not a society of the successful. It is a fellowship of the forgiven.
