Little Red Irritation This Week's Theme: Egos Shawn Craig Monday, June 19, 2000
 1 of 1

Key Bible Verse: Our struggle is not against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12a). Bonus Reading: James 1:13-15
You're moving with the flow of morning traffic, minding your own business, when a little red sports car with tinted windows moves up behind you. We'll call it Little Red.
You're keeping a safe distance between you and the car in front of you, but Little Red tails you like you're the only thing between him and a wild ride on the autobahn. You know that if you have to stop suddenly, Little Red will be in your front seat, and his ignorance of that fact begins to get under your skin. Your adrenaline begins to rise, and thoughts come unbidden into your head: I think I'll just tap my brakes and send Little Red a message, or I'll get in the next lane and match the speed of the car in front of him and block his path. Maybe that will teach Little Red a lesson!
The only way to win seems to be to match Little Red's aggression and teach him a lesson. To give in and move out of Little Red's way now would make you a loser, wouldn't it?
So who's the most dangerous enemy here? Little Red? Or Satan working through your stinking pride? Put the more dangerous enemy where he belongs: under your feetnot in a cloud of smoke from your tailpipe!
Shawn Craig in Between Sundays Personal Challenge:
- Ask the Lord for insight to discern the real enemy, and for freedom from the whims and wishes of your old nature.
Thought to Apply: Swallow your pride occasionally. It's nonfattening.
