Velcro or Teflon? This Week's Theme: Owner or Owned?

Key Bible Verse:
remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35b). Bonus Reading:Deuteronomy 15:7-15
There are two types of getters. Everything velcro getters receive from God sticks to them. Our twins for a while had an almost automatic response anytime I touched one of their toys. They'd say, "It's not yours!" They were acting like velcro getters.
Everything teflon getters receive from God slides right off them to bless others. They don't hoard. They don't stockpile. They don't have vast resources set aside for a rainy day that never comes. They receive from God and pass it on.
Certainly I'm not opposed to people having savings accounts or making sound long-term investments. What I oppose, and what I believe the Word of God opposes, is the habit of believing that we never have enough; therefore, we keep everything we receive and we grasp for more.
Greed says to God and to others about the things that are acquired, "It's not yours!" Greed says to God, "I don't trust You to meet my needs. I don't trust You to replace what I give with even more of what I need." It relies upon the acquisition and possession of things more than upon trust in God. And that is precisely why greed is a fatal distraction.

Respond:
How can you make a financial decision that puts God first?
Thought to Apply:
God divided the hand into fingers so that money could slip through.
