Key Bible Verse: But the man who looks intently into the perfect law
not forgetting what he has heard, but doing ithe will be blessed in what he does (James 1:25). Bonus Reading:James 1:22-25
I talked to Luis Palau fresh from visiting Manuel Noriega, one-time strong man of Panama. The only things in his prison cell were an exercise bike, a cot and a table with a Bible resting on it. And all this once-evil man could talk about was what God has done in his life while in solitary confinement.
Luis asked him, "If the day comes when you are released, General, what will you do with your life?"
Noriega replied, "When I was president of Panama, I had three men in a tribunal who'd come to me every morning and lay out the problems in the land. I'd say to them, What do you think we should do? They'd invariably say, 'You're the commander in chief. We're here to tell you the problems, but we can't give you the answers. You must give them to us.' Mr. Palau, I've found a new commander in chief: Jesus Christ. The day I walk out of here a free man, I'll turn to my General and say, 'Lord, what do You want me to do?'" Then he pointed to his Bible and said, "There's the book that tells me what His will is for my life. It has changed me."
