A Real Job This Week's Theme: Being a Server
Tuesday, May 1, 2001

Key Bible Verse: Each one should.
serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms (1 Peter 4:10). Bonus Reading:1 Peter 4:7-11
Almost 30 years ago I met Duncan Miller, a brilliant young manager in the fledgling computer industry. One day he informed me that he sensed a call to get involved with a Bible study for prisoners.
Duncan began to go behind the walls of Concord (Massachusetts) Correctional Institution every Monday night and teach the Bible. He's hardly missed a night since that inauspicious beginning. Over the years many have followed him, been trained by him, and extended his vision to all parts of the prison. Recently he showed me a complete Bible study curriculum designed for men and women in the prison world that's been instrumental in introducing scores of inmates to faith in Jesus.
Today, Duncan Miller leads a high-level Defense Department task force that coordinates computer simulation programs for training our military. He's highly respected in his profession. But his vocation is prison work. He's a kingdom-builder.

Respond:
What can you do, without fanfare, to make a difference?
Thought to Apply:
I used to ask God to help me. Then.
if I might help Him. I ended up asking Him to do His work through me.
