In 1992, Atlanta travel destination consultant Ted Sprague began intentionally using golfing as a way to introduce others to Christ, making people his priority—rather than pars. "Over a four- to five-hour period of playing golf and enjoying God's creation," he says, "I'm relaxed and many times have experienced the joy of sharing my faith with others. "On the front nine, I ask common-sense questions, building rapport. On the back nine I ask about their challenges in business or what they see as keys to success. When I get to heavy questions, I tell about bumps and bruises I've experienced in business and life. I talk about the bottom line of life, a personal relationship with Christ, and offer them a booklet like Steps to Peace with God. How they respond is not as important as being a part of the process."
