Key Bible Verse: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on (Philippians 3:13-14). Bonus Reading:Philippians 3:7-16
Ricky Rudd, a top Winston Cup driver for many years, had become an owner-driver with 35 to 50 employees. "Time management," he says, "was a constant struggle. Family. Racing. Appearances.
I needed help but didn't know how to solve the problem. The Lord just sort of steered me down the path."
"The path" was an offer to drive for Robert Yates Racing, which meant dissolving his own team. "A lot of fans say, 'You must have been brokenhearted to shut the team down,'" Ricky says. "But it wasn't that way at all."
Rudd says his life is "much simpler" now. "It's like being a rookie in the sport againI'm having so much more fun now. I have just as much control of the car as I always had." And he has much better control of his personal life.
"When this offer came from Yates, it wasn't hard to accept. I thought. 'If I shut down my race team, I'll have more time with my family, and I'll get to drive for one of the best race teams. What's the catch?' There was no catch. The Lord led, and this is exactly what I'm supposed to be doing."

How well are my priorities and commitments aligned? Thought to Apply:
If you don't control your own time, according to the will of God as you see it, others will control your time for you.
