Every city in China has "English Corners," where students seek out Westerners to practice their English. "I spend a lot of time there, plowing their minds," Adam says. "I ask them about values, morals, why they're living. I try to make them hungry, give them 60 percent of the answer, then go on to football."
Adam tells about Wang Rui who told him "I'm not happy with my life."
"I've learned the secret of happiness," said Adam.
"And what is that?"
"Come around to my home sometime," Adam tempted him. "I'll explain it."
About a week later Wang Rui came over. They talked for an hour or so, but Wang Rui never brought up the topic and neither did Adam.
Another week passed and Wang Rui called again. This time, about 15 minutes into the conversation, he said, "By the way, at the English corner, you said you knew the secret of happiness." Today, Wang Rui and many other Chinese have learned the secret in Jesus through men and women willing to lose themselves in the heart of China.
