What Would the Neighbors Say? Theme for the Week: Redemptive Relationships Charles Colson Friday, October 5, 2001

Key Bible Verse: You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence (Psalm 16:11). Bonus Reading: Mark 2:13-17
Sue first learned that her brother Richard was a homosexual when he announced he had AIDS. The first time Sue flew to San Francisco to see him, he wouldn't invite her into his home but met her in a public place. Still, she continued to see him every few months, little by little learning what life is like in a gay subculture.
Sue knew the day would come when Richard would be too sick to care for himself. If she brought an aids patient into her home, how would her friends react? Would her children be ostracized? Sue and her family decided to go ahead.
Sue flew Richard home to a whole new world. Sue's two boys played on the floor around his bed and read stories to him at night. Church friends dropped by to welcome him and pray with him.
In the last weeks of his life, Richard was surrounded by a living testimony of God's love. Before he died, he committed his life to the Lord. His favorite verse was (today's Key Bible Verse)words now etched on his gravestone.
Through his sister, Richard learned of a God who hates sin but loves the sinner.
Charles Colson in A Dangerous Grace My Response:
Someone whom most of my friends would draw outside of their approved circle but whom I could draw inside it is .
Thought to Apply:
