Theme of the Week: Finding God's Will

Near Alberta's Crowsnest Pass, there's a valley named for the peak at its closed end: Andy Good. The trail in it winds along a creek, crossing several times. An extended section of uphill, closely lined with alders, gives it a claustrophobic feel. It twists and turns, as does the valley. From any single point along it, it's difficult to tell where you are.
The trail ends in a bowl bordered by an elevated plateau. If you push your way to its top, you can see way out to the valley's mouth, tracing every twist of the trail below. It all makes sense up there.
The plateau is God's perspective. He sees where the trail begins and ends. He also knows intimately what it will take to get from one end to the other, because in the person of Jesus Christ, He walked that trail Himself. So He's able to give us directions and guide us through the tricky parts. From our position in the trees, crossing the same creek for the umpteenth time, it gets frustrating and hard to understand. But in the end, it pays to listen to the One who can see it all and has been down there Himself.
