Investing in God's Invention
Theme of the Week: Someone to Shape
Sunday, July 14

Key Bible Verse: Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who turn many to righteousness will shine like stars forever (Daniel 12:3). Bonus Reading: Matthew 28:18-20

Dan Sylvester built a multi-million dollar enterprise from a basement project he started as a teenager. But along with becoming a midwestern manufacturer of auto parts, Sylvester devoted a few hours each week to discipling men in his growing company. He started with a delivery boy, who went on to become a college graduate and now pastors a church. Others have included the man who later became his director of operations and his top two salesmen.

Other business leaders often ask him where he got such a fine Christian staff. His response is always, "I invested in God's invention—people—and along the way I was investing in my business."

Sylvester won't admit to how many men he's impacted, but his friends say it must be thousands when you consider the third and fourth generations of faithfulness passed on from man to man over the years. He's never traveled much, and he shies away from big religious events, but Dan Sylvester has truly impacted the world by influencing many people for Christ.

You are the pivotal factor in someone's eternal destiny. God can use you to help grow others into maturity.
