Claude and Eric's relationship covered all areas of life. Claude helped Eric's business evaluate some bad debt situations, and Eric offered invaluable advice to Claude on the deadbeat thinking of some of the bank's worst customers. When Claude's son was arrested for driving under the influence, Eric helped Claude walk through the process with his son. Because of Eric's background, he had great insight on how to talk with the boy and not lecture or berate him. Eric was able to get tough with Claude's son because he'd been there and could cut through all the alibis. It took a decade for Eric to mature, but Claude kept in mind the fact that Christ has called us for life, not for a 13-week class. It takes a lifetime to grow an oak tree, and we're aiming to grow a thousand oaks of righteousness [see today's Key Bible Verse].
Who has God put on your heart? Who are the men you believe in and can envision accomplishing great things for God? Which one needs the most help? Spend time in prayer and see whom the Lord puts on your heart. Get on your knees and ask the Lord to point out the one or two He'd have you disciple.
