Can you remember back to the 1992 United States Olympic basketball team? "Dream Team I" was made up of 12 NBA all-stars, including Michael Jordan, David Robinson, Karl Malone, Scottie Pippen, Charles Barkley, and Patrick Ewing. Every game the Dream Team played was a blowout. There wasn't a team in the world that compared with the Americans. With its collection of Hall of Fame talent, the Dream Team truly was in a class all its own.
Our God is in a class all His own. Nothing or no one compares with Him. He's infinitely wiser than the most learned human, infinitely bigger than all of creation, and infinitely more powerful than a billion stars. God is far above and beyond all we, limited by our humanity, can imagine or comprehend.
But we are never to forget that He's the incomparable Lord of all. God wants us to understand that He's a jealous God who requires our worship, that we're to put nothing before Him, nothing beside Him. God delights in being in a class all His own in our hearts and lives. We can give Him our allegiance and undivided loyalty because nothing or no one can compare to Him.
