Bump, Bump Theme of the Week: Can You Relate? Bob Benson Sunday, January 5, 2003

Key Bible Verses: Timothy
genuinely cares about your welfare. All the others care only for themselves and not for what matters to Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:20-21). Bonus Reading:Philippians 2:4
Richard, the electrician who rewired our old building, was such a talker that somebody started calling him "Motormouth." A year later, making wiring changes, I asked if anyone had called Richard. Someone said, "Didn't you hear about Richard?"
"No, I didn't."
"About two months ago when his partner stopped by to pick him up for work, Richard said, 'I'll meet you at the job.' He'd been arguing with his wife. He went to the bedroom, came back to the kitchen, tapped her on the shoulder and pulled the trigger of the pistol pressed against his head."
Richard, always joking and willing to be the butt of our jokes. I'd asked him lots of times how he was doing, but I guess never in a way that made him want to tell me.
Life is like those electric bumper cars at the amusement park. We run at each other and smile and bump and away we go. "Hi, Motormouth, how are you doing?" (Bump.)
"Great, fantastic." (Bump, bump.) And somebody slips out and dies because there's no one to talk to.
