Key Bible Verses: We have proved ourselves
. God's power has been working in us (2 Corinthians 6:6, 7). Bonus Reading:2 Corinthians 6:6-7
Back in 1997, my chronic illness left me nearly bedridden for many months. At the same time our house had bare wood showing in many places and had to be painted. We couldn't afford to hire someone to do it, so my wife, Amy, began the daunting taskscraping the outside of the house in preparation for painting. She worked every day for weeks and only managed to sand down a small corner on the east side.
Then suddenly one Saturday about a dozen people from our church showed up at our front door, wearing their "grubbies." They'd come to do the sanding for us. For the next few hours they laughed and scraped and accomplished in one morning what Amy and I hadn't been able to do in weeks. A few days later they showed up again, this time bringing their own paint and paintbrushes. In just hours our house had a fresh, professional-looking coat of paint from top to bottom.
A few months later, my son's Sunday school teacher asked the children to draw a picture of a servant of Jesus. Tony brought the picture home, and Amy and I both got choked up looking at it. He'd drawn a picture of himself, painting a house.

My Response: The servant of Jesus I'd draw is.
Thought to Apply: You must live with people to know their problems and live with God in order to solve them.
