Key Bible Verse: But when I grew up, I put away childish things (1 Corinthians 13:11). Bonus Reading:1 Corinthians 13:1-8
Many wives and children in Christian homes today suffer needlessly because of "the silent treatment." Men are more likely than women to use silence to kill the spirits of their spouses and children. While silence leaves no bruises or broken bones, it is nonetheless a form of abuse when used to control or hurt another.
How do you handle conflict in your home? Do you communicate with your loved one, or do you clam up? Do you show them Christ's love, or do you withhold it as a form of punishment?
Ephesians 5:25 says, "And you husbands must love your wives with the same love Christ showed the church." Your family is your ministry. If you don't nourish relationships within the family, they'll wither and die.
Obstinate silence can speak volumes about a man's love for his family. What does your silence say about Christ's love? It's time for us to leave behind our punishing silence and childish ways. Let's be the men God intended us to be and so love our families that Christ's love is known in our homes.
