Key Bible Verse: God opened Hagar's eyes, and she saw a well (Genesis 21:19). Bonus Reading:Gen. 21:8-21

Charles Krulak's Desert Storm task was to supply an Allied forces offensive against Iraqi troops. The Marine major general had identified enough wells to meet water requirements. But then, in a strategy change, General Schwarzkopf ordered him to shift 74 miles to the northwest. Attempts to find water there—consulting with oil companies, engineers, and local Bedouins—all failed.

Just days before the ground-attack launch, they'd exhausted every resource—except the one Krulak turned to every morning with any staff who'd join him. He was on his knees praying for water, when a colonel interrupted, asking Krulak to accompany him. Barreling down a Marine-built road, the two spotted—about 50 yards to one side—a pipe rising out of the sand. Approaching it, they became incredulous. At its base was a bright red pump, a green diesel generator, and four new batteries. Krulak pushed the generator start button. It cranked right up and water started flowing.

A full division—2,000 troops—had traveled that road repeatedly. Till that morning, none had seen a water pipe! The well produced the 100,000 gallons a day needed for the assault.

My Response: One need I have right now is …

Thought to Apply: We are working with God to determine the future! Certain things will happen in history if we pray rightly. We are to change the world by prayer.
