As a Marine fighter pilot, I was landing at an airfield in Okinawa, when I caught my first glimpse of a then-top-secret SR-71. I drove over to the hanger where the planes were housed and talked my way past the guards. But I was so disappointed. The thing was leaking fuel all over the place. Portions of the skin didn't seem to exactly fit together.

I asked the crew chief, "What's wrong with this hanger queen?"

"Sir, they're all like this on the ground," he replied. "The fuel lines don't seal totally until they're ripping along at a high speed. The searing heat of going Mach 3 at high altitude causes the skin to expand and fit perfectly together. The airframe is made of titanium, so it gets stronger with each flight as it's heated."

What a picture of men of God! Most guys are walking around just dripping fuel: complaining about their wives, grumbling about the same old jobs, the kids, and the same old breaks in life. They're missing the vision. They were designed by God to make a difference in the world. You can't do that sitting in some La-Z-Boy watching television. Vision is developed in the heat and heights of living for God.
