The idea was to leave Christian materials someplace they'd be found-after the visiting missionary team had safely left the area.
"John" and "Mark" had found just the spot—a tarp over the woodpile next to the store. It would hide the trash bag that held tracts and a cassette with the gospel in the local language. Since the store was heated with wood, someone would be coming for more before long. The bus they were taking would be leaving soon. Perfect!
As they climbed on the bus, the driver secured items on the roof. But it was rainy season, and the passengers wouldn't want their bags getting wet. A tarp! Perfect!
John and Mark watched in horror as the driver uncovered their carefully hidden bag and curiously ripped it open. As they slid down in their seats, he began distributing the tracts to the other passengers, who took them and began reading. Cautiously they watched reactions. No one seemed upset. John and Mark started to relax.
As they pulled out, the bus driver popped the cassette into his tape player and cranked up the volume so everyone could hear the message—all the long ride to the next village.
