Feel Paralyzed?
Theme of the Week: Step-at-a-Time Guidance
Sunday, December 28, 2003

Key Bible Verse: And you will hear a voice say, "This is the way; turn around and walk here" (Isaiah 30:21). Bonus Reading:Psalm 32:8-11

The most unproductive people in the Church are often those unfortunate believers who live in constant fear that they're going to miss God.

Honestly, I'm convinced that it's practically impossible to miss God when you're in a worship relationship with Him. Even your biggest mistakes will turn into positive things in His hands!

When I was a boy, I had a battery-powered toy car that had automatic sensor wheels in the front. The moment that a wheel ran off of the edge of a table and stopped turning, the electric motor instantly reversed itself to pull the car back up on the table so that it could head off in another, safer direction.

David marvels, in Psalm 139:7-10, "I can never escape from your spirit! I can never get away from your spirit! … If I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me."

I think God has put in us a type of automatic guidance wheel that won't let us fall off the edge of His purposes—as long as we are walking in relationship with Him. The only way we can go off the edge is to disobey God's Word or Holy Spirit in stubborn disobedience.

0Prayer for the Week

Sovereign Lord, teach me to trust You for the next step, even when I can't see the big picture.
