Key Bible Verse: "The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field" (Matthew 13:44). Bonus Reading:Matthew 13:44-50
What's heaven really like?" asked my son, Rob, when he was about seven. He wouldn't accept my stock answer.
"Dad, I meanis it fun?"
"What do you mean by 'fun'?"
"You know what I mean, Dad. Are there computer games, football on TV, and vacations? You know, fun!"
If I had it to do over, here's how I'd try to steer that conversation:
"Dad, what's heaven like?"
"Rob, what's the most important thing in your life?"
"UmmmAbby" (his dog).
"Heaven will be so much more valuable to you than even Abby."
"But what will there be to do in heaven?"
"Rob, of anything you can imagine, what would be your favorite thing to do?"
"Meeting John Elway!"
"Rob, as great as John Elway is, heaven will be so much more exciting than even meeting John Elway."
"Dad, what are we going to do in heaven?"
"What's the greatest thing you've ever done?"
"Going to a Broncos game and going fishing on the boat with Grandpa."
"Rob, it's better than thatway better!"
