Weekend Wrap-up Theme of the Week: Sticking Together Saturday, May 29, 2004

How do you hang on to your faith without wobbling?
Not by yourself, according to the writer of the letter to the Hebrews. He wrote that it has a lot to do with regularly getting together with other believers—both for timely tips on avoiding traps and for the boost that comes from a cheering section. Interact with God's Word
Hebrews 10:23–25
- What influences cause believers to waver in their Christian walk?
- Why are "lone ranger" Christians especially vulnerable to these influences?
- In this passage, failure to keep meeting with others for mutual support is not attributed to hostility but to neglect. How can your group avoid such negligence?
- Does your group function at both the encouragement and warning levels?
- This Scripture challenges us to "think of ways to encourage one another." Take a few minutes to brainstorm how to do this.
Spend Time in Prayer
Ask God to mold your group into a "huddle" that is both challenging and safe.
Hebrews 10:23–25
(23)Without wavering, let us hold tightly to the hope we say we have, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. (24)Think of ways to encourage one another to outbursts of love and good deeds. (25)And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near.
