Weekend Wrap-up Theme of the Week: Still Growing? Saturday, July 31, 2004
 1 of 1

When someone's growth or progress levels off, we say he has plateaued. But actually, we're unlikely to remain in a state of suspended animation. If we aren't climbing, we're probably starting to slip. In his letter to the Philippian believers, Paul addressed growth in the disciple's life. Interact with God's Word
Philippians 1:62 ; 2:13 ; and 3:1
- Recall how God "began the good work in you" (1:6). What do you believe it was that Jesus saved you for (2:13)?
- Describe how God is currently working in your life (1:6). What (according to 2:13) is behind this?
- How do you imagine your life might look when God has finished his work in it (1:6)? How (according to 3:12) can this vision move toward reality?
Spend Time in Prayer
Ask God to motivate and empower you for a fresh "growth spurt" in your spiritual development.
Philippians 1:62 ; 2:13 ; and 3:1
(Philippians 1:6) And I am sure that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on that day when Christ Jesus comes back again.
(Philippians 2:13) For God is working in you, giving you the desire to obey him and the power to do what pleases him.
(Philippians 3:12) I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection! But I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ Jesus saved me for and wants me to be.
